August Notes

August always feels a little slower.

The garden is winding down, the afternoons are warm, and the days seem to stretch a little longer.

Lately, I’ve been enjoying the simple parts of summer most—the slower mornings, less structured days, and the ease of letting the day unfold.

There is something so nice about this point in the season. Summer is still here, but you can feel a change coming. The light begins to soften, the garden starts to shift, and thoughts slowly turn toward what comes next.

For now, I’m trying to stay in it a little longer.

A few of my favorite finds as of lately…

  1. An olive oil bar soap

  2. One of our favorite herbs we’ve been growing this summer

  3. A cookbook for cooking with simple in season ingredients

  4. A fig candle
