In the Garden: September

September in the garden was still very much summer.

There were Moon and Stars watermelon winding through the garden, Rosa Bianca eggplants ready for picking, and more basil than we could keep up with — lemon basil, purple basil, along with lots of peppers and herbs.

This time of year always feels a little bit in between. The garden is still giving us the last of summer, while the first thoughts of fall are beginning to make their way in. A few beds are being cleared, more seeds are going in, and there is always something new starting to grow each week.

A few moments from the garden this past month, along with everything we’re growing.
